- Could anyone tell me something about war kahuna? What pets on the belt how to give away TP and what skill in eq?
Is it really a good use of 'other meanings' to link to the commercial websites of companies selling anything called Kahuna? I'm thinking of removing all commercial links, and just adding a blanket entry saying that 'Kahuna' has been used as a product name or brand name by many companies. Syncmaster p2370 driver. Anyone else reading this? Comments? Zora 03:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. Apart from specific copyrighted brand names standing as intangibles asset for a notable product/company (like CocaCola, whose proncipal asset is the brand name) other brand names on product related pages will only encourage advertisers to use WP as an advertising channel. Zora, it's time for you raise the advertising debate at the village pump. I think you have at least one supporter here. If we have a specific guideline to fight advertising it would make life simpler for all editors. It's difficult to use only personal judgement to fight something as entrenched as advertising. - Aditya Kabir 15:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Re-write[edit]
I re-wrote the Hawaiian section to make it accurate and removed inauthentic and non-referenced statements. Makana Chai 21:11, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Pharmacy Manager?[edit]
This was in the body of the article:
- Kahuna can sometimes be used by a Pharmacy Manager to refer to his or herself. The term is found to be somewhat vulgar in such usage.
This seems dubious to me. Can anyone confirm? Roman à clef 22:32, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- That at least sounds plausible: If the term has mainly referred to practitioners of herbal medicine since 1919, it could conceivably be co-opted by pharmacists. And if that did happen, I'd imagine it would seem rather vulgar. 72.82.227.247 (talk) 01:06, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for being bold. I agree it's unsourced trivia, yet I believe most of it is true, and it's helpful to have this information available in the article. How about moving back into the article and calling it 'usourced trivia'? I'd rather have it unsourced than sourced, or we'll end up with a bunch of ridiculous links, methinks. - I may have been too bold! I've added the section back in per your suggestion, but I've also added a {{trivia}} tag. Are you familiar with WP:TRIV and the links at the bottom of that page? Perhaps we can work together to improve this article. Viriditas (talk) 09:06, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Mahalo. I'll check WP:TRIV. Right now I'm researching something for the main part of the article, which I'm more concerned about. And then we're supposed to be working on Hawaiian religion :-) This one is lower on my list. Makana Chai (talk) 06:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- So true. :) Ok. Let me know if I can be your research assistant. Viriditas (talk) 10:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

- I looked at WP:TRIV and this doesn't seem to fit. This isn't a random list of trivia, it is a list of non-Hawaiian uses, a legitimate section, me thinks. But speaking of trivia, I pared down the history section to take out some inessential details. Now if we can just get to religion .. Makana Chai (talk) 08:46, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- I understand what you are saying, and I think you are making an important point, but on Wikipedia, trivia sections are generally considered lists of information that are not important to the subject in question. The question to ask is, how is this material important to the subject? If the answer is, 'it isn't', then it probably doesn't belong here. Whenever possible, we try to incorporate the trivia into the body of the topic, or convert lists to prose. This process usually requires expansion. If a list of material is deemed important, it should be restricted to a particular topic. Trivia that doesn't have sources is usually removed on sight. Viriditas (talk) 11:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- You're right. I moved it all to a new disambig page. Hope that's okay. Should we take out all the listings above that you put there for safekeeping? Makana Chai (talk) 01:50, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- It depends on the entry. The dab project has a set of strict guidelines that they use, and they will eliminate any entry that doesn't have an actual page. If you think the information is important, and can easily be converted into prose, it may be necessary to merge it into other articles, or failing that, find the appropriate redirect. Red links are usually deleted on dab pages. Viriditas (talk) 21:40, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if you look at the dab, someone wrote 'bollocks' in the comment section. There are hardly any links at all. Is there some other format we can find for this? Otherwise, I fear we will spend the rest of our lives defending this page from people putting up every trivial reference to kahuna. And the trivia info is useful on some level. Just not here. Makana Chai (talk) 22:27, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Leave a very brief note over at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation and Wikipedia talk:Trivia sections and ask for help. There are usually good editors watching those pages. I can of course, offer more advice, but maybe it is best to get more editors involved; That might give you more choices. Viriditas (talk) 22:40, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Good job, Makana. It looks like you received a number of helpful replies. BTW, the 'bollocks' that User:Closedmouth left in the edit summary had nothing to do with your article. That user was upset because their previous edit was a typo. You can see it, here. :-) Viriditas (talk) 13:07, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello everyone this is opetakias and this post will be about what skill you should pursue on pw gears for each class, not only the super-op ones, but the less expensive but still viable ones aswell.
So, lets start with Deva:
Oracle : oracles who are dps oriented would want to go mass repetance while for a roa pt hymn of focus on your gears would be good for the extra bunch of accuracy and attack speed.
Oracle : oracles who are dps oriented would want to go mass repetance while for a roa pt hymn of focus on your gears would be good for the extra bunch of accuracy and attack speed.
Cardinal : Cardinals can go for Vortex Magic gears which increase the damage of arctic blast and cold bolt pretty damn much.
Rappelz War Kahuna
Master Breeder : Breeders would mostly want to go for law of exchange gears which will increase their dps significally, while having defence mastery gears aswell will help with making their pets more tanky whle doing more damage
Next will be Templar , templars have several skills worthy atm , but the best would be Righteous purpose. Thorned shield is the best option to help with hitting attack speed plateaus. Another viable choice is salvation , salvation spam is more efficient with an m attack oriented build though.
Mercenaries are similar to templars they ve got a load of useful skills they can get gears for , best would be wild stream atm and the second best option will then most likely be invigorating aura gears , other viable choices for a non spam ws merc would be restrain gears ( restrain turns semi-spammable with +24 helmet, active deva belt , dt buff , full restrain set) and lust for blood gears.
Asura :
Void Mage: void mages have a load of useful skills , most people go for crystal aura gears , other viable choices would be heed/tempest/spirit of fire gears.
Void Mage: void mages have a load of useful skills , most people go for crystal aura gears , other viable choices would be heed/tempest/spirit of fire gears.
corruptor: Corrs most likely use occultism gears but a bit cheaper build which is not as over powered but works is hunger for blood gears.
Overlord : I havent seen enough overlords around but my guess would be master mind would be the best skill for them to use , cant really go in further details though
Slayer: Slayers mostly go for Shadowforged plating gears or phase blades depending on if they want to be tanky or dps oriented.
Deadeye : I havent seen a DE around on unicorn so i am not a 100% sure but my guess would be the skill to go for would be wild instict another viable solution seems to be burning style ,being the best choice damage wise
As for Gaia :
Magus : Most magus use bleak squall and cyclone pieces which tend to make them overpriced but a good alternative for less rich people would be flamemonger , being quite less powerful than cyclone gears(even for staff magus).
Magus : Most magus use bleak squall and cyclone pieces which tend to make them overpriced but a good alternative for less rich people would be flamemonger , being quite less powerful than cyclone gears(even for staff magus).
War Kahuna : Having seen WK mostly as a buff slave i am not entirely sure of their cappabilities right now but as far as i know they can pretty much tank the best by going recklessness of earth pieces on their gears as they get to lvl it up to lvl 12 or more which is insane compared to 6 magus get , other choices could be leviathan torrent and bestial wrath.
Beast Master : For beast master my guess will be wave cut is the shit but havent tried it out and i certainly hope it could get spammable. The more well known one though is overrun for the extra attack speed and anger of spirit for the insane amount of damage it adds.
Berserker : Bers should mostly go for Essence of Invulnerability pieces , feels like thats their best choice ,having been one i realised for a berserker to be eficient you would probably need +24 helmet , dt buff, 3 pieces ,endairon belt hector p attack card ,959 plateau and a highly + weap, another viable solution is Steel Presence which adds to your max HP and defence.
And lastly Marksman: MM mainly go for the spam double shot which is pretty deadly and very VERY cost efficient .
Am open to feedback in case i missed something but these are the gears i d most likely use if i made one of each class , thanks for taking the time to navigate through the site and feel free to give me ideas what to post for .
